Different blood pressure monitors provide different readings. The most common blood pressure devise uses a piece of mercury to measure the blood pressure with a hand pump close to the arm of the patient. When you push this, the blood pressure device tightens on your arm. Readings taken by this tool are frequently correct. But a drawback with this kind of mercury-based blood pressure device is that unintentional spilling of mercury can root different allergic reactions and sickness.

In order to make sure that these new instruments give correct data, they should be calibrated and validated from time to time. Calibration ensures that dimensions start from zero on all junctures.
