The US government attempted to shut down a primary wiki site for leaked documents from several governments around the world, effectively attempting to censor free speech and freedom of information. This site is called Wikileaks, and here is an exert from their site:

Wikileaks is developing an uncensorable Wikipedia for untraceable mass document leaking and analysis. Our primary interest is in exposing oppressive regimes in Asia, the former Soviet bloc, Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East, but we also expect to be of assistance to people of all regions who wish to reveal unethical behavior in their governments and corporations. We aim for maximum political impact. Our interface is identical to Wikipedia and usable by all types of people. We have received over 1.2 million documents so far from dissident communities and anonymous sources.

Truly a noble goal and a very good way to bring atrocities to light by allowing people around the world in oppressive governments to submit data on their atrocities and inhumane laws and actions.

Right now they are asking people for support in their legal defense fund, and I urge my readers to check that out. This is something worth supporting to those who believe in freedom and want to do their part to help out those in countries where governments are far less kind to their citizens.
